The Markets

Stocks closed firmly higher on Friday following a confluence of positive headlines that had investors buying back into favoured bets that had sold off in recent sessions.  The S&P 500 Index added 1.66%, charting a fresh record high.  The benchmark continues to maintain support at the rising 50-day moving average, despite downside risks that were proposed relating to end of quarter rebalancing.  As highlighted in our last report, the downside targets to our desired holdings were hit in the Thursday session, providing the opportunity that we sought to load up on risk prior to the month of April.  Just three more sessions remain before the quarter comes to a close.
