The Markets
Stocks closed slightly lower on Thursday as investors monitored developments pertaining to President Elect Biden’s proposed stimulus package. The S&P 500 Index shed almost four-tenths of one percent, reversing gains charted earlier in the session. The move keeps the tight trading range around 3800 that we’ve seen all week intact as investors search for the next catalyst to move stocks. Friday is likely to provide one. Major banks are set to kick off the fourth quarter earning season with reports from JP Morgan, Wells Fargo, and Citigroup. The SPDR Bank ETF (KBE) closed solidly higher ahead of the event.
