The Markets
Stocks closed mildly higher on Thursday as the largest sector in the market, technology, took a leadership role. The S&P 500 Index added just less than two-tenths of one percent, remaining pinned to record high territory. Momentum indicators, while continuing to show characteristics of a bullish trend, are showing early signs of stalling as the thrust from this gyration higher fades. Intermediate support remains apparent at the 50-day moving average, while the rising 20-day moving average remains in a position for short-term traders to shoot off of.
Today, in our Market Outlook to subscribers, we discuss the following:
- The investment strategy for the equity market through the back half of February
- A look at what jobless claims have to say about the economic recovery
- Is now the time to invest in Natural Gas for the average period of strength ahead?

Sentiment on Thursday, as gauged by the put-call ratio, ended bullish at 0.74.
