The Markets
Stocks closed fairly mixed on Monday with the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average benchmarks moving in opposite directions on the day. The S&P 500 Index added just less than two-tenths of one percent, achieving another record closing high. The benchmark continues to grind around the upper limit to its rising trend-channel, which hovers just beyond 4200. The lower limit of the rising range can be seen at 4000. Sell signals with respect to RSI and MACD remain intact. Only a few more sessions remain in the month of April and, while the imbalances in portfolio position have been much less extreme than in months past, the “fluttering†of prices may continue through the days ahead as portfolio managers conduct their final trades before the new month begins.
