The Markets
Stocks closed mildly lower on Tuesday as portfolio managers shuffle the deck on positions ahead of the end of the month. The S&P 500 Index shed just over two-tenths of one percent, continuing to hold above its 20-day moving average that it broke above in the prior session. The limits of the intermediate-term rising trend channel remain intact with the lower limit now hovering around 4100, while the upper limit can be pegged around 4300. Momentum indicators have curled higher in recent days as downside momentum wanes. Technical indicators continue to show characteristics of a bullish trend.
