US Consumer Price Index for May

 

On the surface, inflationary pressures appear to be cooling, but the core metric of consumer prices highlights that there is still an underlying burden impacting the costs that Americans must be contended with.  

 

Consumer prices for all urban consumers rose by 0.2% (NSA) in the fifth month of 2025, which is half of the 0.4% gain that is average for the month of May.
