US Industrial Production for May

 

A highly abnormal May decline in Industrial Production highlights that the flurry of activity that corresponded with pre-tariff front-running has come to an end. 

 

The change in industrial production in the US declined by 0.04% (NSA) in May, which is on par with the third weakest May performance in the past three decades, lagging only the negative results that were printed in 2008 and 2018. The average change during this spring month is a rise of 0.7%.
