US Retail Sales for July

As alluded to in our report on Vehicle Sales for July, consumer spending snapped back last month, but the change in one category tied to discretionary consumer spending leaves reason for concern.
Retail sales rose by 4.5% (NSA) in this first month of the third quarter, which is well ahead of the 0.3% increase that is average for this time of year.
