US Industrial Production for July

A shallower than average drawdown in industrial production for July provides a bit of optimism for the health of the manufacturing economy in this summer month, but we must take the data with a grain of salt given the volatility that can surround this average factory closure period.
The change in industrial production in the US declined by 0.8% (NSA) in July, which was around half of the 1.4% drawdown that is average for this time of year.
